{"id":1045,"date":"2018-02-22T15:17:28","date_gmt":"2018-02-22T21:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dalemorin.com\/?p=1045"},"modified":"2018-03-18T16:42:29","modified_gmt":"2018-03-18T21:42:29","slug":"xtc-reassembly-started","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dalemorin.com\/?p=1045","title":{"rendered":"XTC reassembly started"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The stem bolts, all 5 of them, were a little rusty. \u00a0Profile Designs made the stem but they told me that the stem had been discontinued and that replacement bolts weren&#8217;t available. \u00a0So I decided to try evaporust on them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a few hours in evaporust, the stem bolts look much better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Started assembly on The XTC. \u00a0The fork is back into the frame, headset preload is adjusted, and tightened things up. \u00a0Handlebars are on and tight. \u00a0Installed the front and rear wheels. \u00a0Hey! \u00a0it rolls now. \u00a0Much better than dragging it around.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Put the seatpost bolts and clamp in evaporust &#8211; they are really rusty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new BB wrench I bought does not fit the cups. \u00a0Rats. \u00a0I guess a trip to Bikes and Moore in Hoptown will be on the agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The seatpost bolts are looking better, but they are a little rough. \u00a0On the plus side, you can\u2019t see them once the saddle is on so I\u2019m not going to worry about it too much. \u00a0Planning to use the Fizik saddle on the XTC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Stay tuned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The stem bolts, all 5 of them, were a little rusty. \u00a0Profile Designs made the stem but they told me that the stem had been discontinued and that replacement bolts weren&#8217;t available. \u00a0So I decided to try evaporust on them.
