{"id":1786,"date":"2021-01-30T10:12:14","date_gmt":"2021-01-30T16:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dalemorin.com\/?p=1786"},"modified":"2021-04-22T07:31:33","modified_gmt":"2021-04-22T12:31:33","slug":"the-first-few-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dalemorin.com\/?p=1786","title":{"rendered":"The first few shots"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greg has a target at his house, with a nice backstop behind it.\u00a0 Not knowing what to expect with the first few shots, a backstop seemed like a pretty good thing to have.<\/p>\n<p>I started at 10 yards.\u00a0 The first few shots all hit the target.\u00a0 Not too bad if I&#8217;m honest, and I was a little surprised.\u00a0 Tried a few more shots at 10 yards and the group looked halfway decent.<\/p>\n<p>I moved back to 20 yards and tried a few more shots.\u00a0 These were a little low, but the left-right alignment was pretty good.\u00a0 Wound up shooting about 20 shots at the 20 yard distance and the grouping was decent.<\/p>\n<p>Moved back to 30 yards, and the group is definitely low.\u00a0 Greg thought the bottom pin might be set for 25 yards, so I moved up 5 yards.\u00a0 Now the arrows are grouping all around the center.\u00a0 Not the best group, but not scar-me-for-life ugly.<\/p>\n<p>It was fun.\u00a0 I think it will take practice to become a good shot, but if I pay attention to the little details I can become a better shot.\u00a0 I need to pick up some new arrows.\u00a0 The wrist release I bought from Herndon Archery is working well for me, and the target is fine for practicing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greg has a target at his house, with a nice backstop behind it.\u00a0 Not knowing what to expect with the first few shots, a backstop seemed like a pretty good thing to have.
